Full-time Milker

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Consistent and punctual arrival at the farm
  • Informing the farm manager of any necessary changes in schedule more than 48 hours in advance
  • Implementation of efficient, thorough, and sanitary milking practices
  • Obeying all guidelines and laws for sanitary milking practices
  • Safely and correctly operating milking equipment
  • Safely and correctly cleaning and sanitizing all milking equipment
  • Record-keeping and communicating with the farm manager of any equipment problems or damage
  • Keeping milking supplies neat and orderly
  • Record-keeping and communicating with the farm manager of any health concerns with the animals
  • Following all guidelines for humane animal treatment
  • Participation in routine sheep veterinary care in the milking parlor
  • Maintaining a consistent demeanor of professionalism and kindness
COMPENSATION
$10/hour up to 60 hours/week
Unpaid vacation of up to two non-consecutive weeks per season; raises may be discussed after one year of employment
